The one that got away! 🎣

Spring is strolling towards early summer as I make what may be my last visit to a stillwater fishery for a while - before the start of the UK river fishing season. And what a lake for this sultry Sunday evening trip - a new venue for me in the shape of Bramley in Surrey, which is another beautiful old estate lake within easy reach of my new home in Guildford. Run by Godalming Angling Society, it's a venue known for bream, tench, carp and perch, so I go armed with float and feeder gear, groundbait, maggots and worms. There are plenty of bites to enjoy and one or two surprises as I savour the lovely surroundings and look ahead to a summer on the rivers.
