How does a specimen hunter catch the BIGGEST FISH?

Join me for a short winter session on Broadwater Lake in Surrey, which is run by Godalming Angling Society. It's known as a productive carp water of around ten acres and is found in Broadwater Park, which is a popular destination for families, dog walkers and runners, as well as anglers from the Godalming and Guildford area. I was again targeting perch, using a combination of float and feeder tactics, because all the rivers within miles were STILL in flood! Talk about bad weather... It's not stopped raining in weeks, but it's always nice to try a new venue and I'd had a tip off about the potential to catch decent stripeys in this nearby lake, using worms or prawns as bait. Let's just say the fishing was slow, but I was joined on the bank by David Aylward, a fishing mate, head bailiff, and accomplished SPECIMEN HUNTER. He used to be part of the big carp scene in Surrey but has since moved to do more river fishing, where he now has a knack of catching the biggest barbel or chub, not to mention perch, zander and other species! So there is a LOT to learn in this video about how successful big fish anglers go about targeting particular species and catching the BIGGEST fish in the water they are tackling. As always, sit back, relax, and enjoy...
