I take a look at how to make an afterthought heel, with a heel shaping that provides a better fit and not grafting! Additional Information Decrease Evenly Formula: Number of stitches = X Number of decreases = Y (X/Y) - 2 = Number of stitches to work before decrease Example: (40/8) - 2 = 3 Pattern direction would be: K3, K2tog Hat Top Shaping Pattern: Round 1: Decrease 8 stitches evenly Round 2: Knit Repeat Rounds 1 and 2 until 8 stitches remain.
