Spring at our Alaska Homestead: Wood Processing, Cabin French Door Install, Moving the RV Back!

This week we are thrilled to be making the move back to the property after the frigid winter that left us with failing generators and batteries that wouldn't stay charged, leading us with no choice but to hunker down in a shop we rented. Thankful for that life-saving space, but so glad to be back in the sunlight and living on our beautiful Alaska land. Spring brings a multitude of tasks as the daylight lingers longer and longer each evening and starts earlier every morning and there is just so much to do! Continuing to prepare plants to build a healthy garden, cutting down trees to further widen our driveway and processing the wood to dry by this coming winter. Cabin work continues, after finding that the French door delivered last Fall is not the right one, the cabin company comes through and provides one to take its place, bringing even more light into our living space. This off grid journey can be a wild ride sometimes, with ups and downs when we least expect and weather usually dictating progress rather than our own plans, but we are so grateful to be following the dream and know that the challenges make us stronger and even more appreciative of the successes.
