Deputy PLANTED Drugs on Innocent Drivers — His OWN Bodycam Sent Him to Prison (Lawyer Explains)

She was pulled over for a bad brake light. Twenty minutes later she was in handcuffs for methamphetamine that was never in her truck. The deputy put it there himself. And the camera on his own chest recorded him doing it. I am Adrian Vance. This is the case of Zachary Wester of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Florida, and I want you to hear the exact words he used on her, because it is the most dangerous sentence anyone will ever say to you at a traffic stop: "There's going to be a K9 coming in a minute, and she's going to walk around the car. But instead of doing that — would you consent to a search of your vehicle?" She said yes. She said yes because she had nothing to hide. That is the trap, and almost everybody falls into it. What I break down: Rodriguez v. United States (2015) — police may NOT extend your stop to wait for a drug dog. The K9 he threatened her with may well have been a dog he had no legal right to make her wait for in the first place Schneckloth v. Bustamonte (1973) — when police ask for consent to search, they do NOT have to tell you that you are allowed to refuse. The most important right you have at a traffic stop is the one they never have to mention What the bodycam actually shows — and, just as importantly, what it does not. There is no frame of the bag leaving his pocket. On March 4, 2026 the Florida Supreme Court heard argument on it — with the State arguing that the second member of the conspiracy was the Sheriff's Office itself He was sentenced to 12 years, 6 months and 8 days.
