In the name of the Father, and of the Son ✠, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. 🛐 ACT OF CONTRITION My God and my Lord, prostrate before Your Sovereign Majesty, with all my being, with all my soul and all my heart I adore You, I confess You, I bless You, I praise You, and I glorify You. I acknowledge You as my God and my Lord; in You I believe, in You I hope, and in You I trust. You must forgive me my sins and grant me Your grace and perseverance in it, and the glory You have promised to those who persevere in Your love. I love You above all things. To You I confess my profound ingratitude and all my faults and sins, for all of which I repent and ask You to graciously grant me forgiveness. I am sorry, my God, for having offended You, because You are who You are. I firmly resolve, with the help of your divine grace, never to sin again, to avoid the occasions of offending you, to confess my sins, to make amends for them, and to strive in all things to serve and please you. Forgive me, Lord, so that with a clean and pure soul I may praise the Blessed Virgin, your Mother and my Lady, and obtain through her powerful intercession the special grace I ask for in this Novena, if it be for your greater honor and glory, and the good of my soul. Amen. 🙏 OPENING PRAYER O Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Mother also of sinners, and special Protectress of those who wear your holy Scapular; Therefore, since His Divine Majesty has exalted you, choosing you to be His true Mother, I beseech you to obtain for me from your beloved Son the pardon of my sins, the amendment of my life, the salvation of my soul, the remedy for my needs, the consolation in my afflictions, and the special grace I ask for in this Novena, if it be for His greater honor and glory, and the good of my soul. I, Lady, to obtain this, rely on your powerful intercession, and I wish I had the spirit of all the angels, saints, and righteous ones so that I might praise you worthily. And uniting my voice with their affections, I greet you a thousand times, saying: (pray three Hail Marys) 5️⃣ FIFTH DAY Oh! Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Most Holy Mary, who, to defend the Carmelites, your children, when there was an attempt to extinguish the sacred Carmelite Order, always showing the love and singular predilection with which you protect them, commanded the Supreme Pontiff, Honorius III, to receive them kindly and confirm their order, giving him as a sign that this was your will and that of your divine Son, the sudden death of two who especially opposed it. I beg you, Lady, defend me from all my enemies of soul and body, so that I may always live in tranquility and peace in the holy service of God and you. 🛐 State the grace you wish to receive with this novena, if it is for the glory of God and the good of your soul. 🙏 FINAL PRAYER Most Holy Virgin of Mount Carmel; I desire that all without exception may find refuge under the protective shadow of your holy Scapular, that all may be united to you, my Mother, by the close and loving bonds of this your beloved insignia. O beauty of Carmel! Look upon us, reverently prostrate before your sacred image, and graciously grant us your loving protection. I commend to you the needs of our Most Holy Father, the Pope, and those of the Catholic Church, our Mother, as well as those of my nation and the whole world, my own needs, and those of my relatives and friends. Look with eyes of compassion upon so many poor sinners, heretics, and schismatics, how they offend your divine Son, and upon so many unbelievers who groan in the darkness of paganism.
