Test KAWASAKI KX450 2024 al ROCCO'S RANCH

What a bike! The new Kawasaki KX450 motocross bike is a real powerhouse, convincing all the testers at the international presentation held at Rocco's Ranch, a facility just outside Barcelona, adjacent to the Montmelò circuit in the heart of Catalonia. A crazy setting of containers, western-style houses, and wrecked cars unfolds, home to various types of motocross, enduro, and flat track tracks. To test the new KX, our Marco Gualdani rode the main track, with its soft surfaces and large jumps, as well as a smaller one at night, taking advantage of artificial lighting. It was a fantastic experience, where the bike's quality was the icing on the cake. The old Kawasaki 450 motocross bike was already an excellent bike, making its overall ease of use its strong point. The new 2024 model has taken a step further, maintaining the engine's proverbial tractability while adding a more "modern" chassis and now essential electronic support. Technically, it has been updated in several areas. For starters, the aluminum perimeter frame maintains its chassis dimensions, but features a different shock mount, with the shock absorber lowered and in turn having a shorter stroke. This has freed up the upper section between the seat and the shock, where the intake manifold now extends, perfectly straight and inclined at 40° (previously 20°). This also includes a new airbox and a new duct leading to the head, completely redesigned. The mounting points and internal flow have changed, with the intake valves increasing from 38 mm to 40 mm. The exhaust system is also new, with the manifold positioned perfectly at the center of the head, optimizing flow output. The manifold also boasts a different design, an updated resonator cylinder, and a silencer closer to the bike's center of gravity. In keeping with these changes, the rest of the frame has also been modified, with a different front crossbeam arch to accommodate the direct exhaust manifold, as mentioned, a completely redesigned shock mount, and a new side plate that allows for the installation of different head mounts. As for the suspension, which remains Showa, the shock has been completely redesigned, while the 49 mm coil spring fork has been updated. The brakes have also changed, with the front now boasting a Brembo caliper (a first for a Kawasaki motocross bike) and a 270 mm Braking disc, while the rear still features a Nissin caliper, but with a 240 mm Braking disc. Finally, modern electronic support has arrived; changing the map no longer requires replacing the connectors on the side of the headstock, but there's a new handlebar switch that allows you to adjust the mapping, traction control, and launch control. There are two mappings, full power and soft, three traction levels (off, full, and medium), and launch is activated by holding both buttons down. Obviously, the entire look has changed, with a different plastic design that also alters the ergonomics. Kawasaki used to be among the thinnest bikes, but today it's more generous between the legs thanks to a sleeker connection, with the widest point near the radiators. Access to the filter has also finally been optimized; it remains on the left side as before, but the seat and subframe mounting screws no longer need to be removed, thanks to the new manual access. Finally, to remove the filter, simply open two clips and slide it out sideways. #kawasaki #kx450 #rocco'sranch ------- Subscribe to our channel to see all our Motorcycling and Off-Road Motorcycling videos: https://bit.ly/34DmphS Follow us on social media: FACEBOOK Motorcycling:   / motociclismo.it   Off-Road Motorcycling:   / motociclismofuoristrada   Vintage Motorcycling:   / motociclismodepoca   INSTAGRAM Motorcycling:   / motociclismoit   Off-Road Motorcycling:   / motociclismo_fuoristrada   ------- Subscribe to our channel to see all our Motorcycling and Off-Road Motorcycling videos: https://bit.ly/34DmphS Follow us on social media: FACEBOOK Motorcycling:   / motociclismo.it   Off-Road Motorcycling:   / motociclismofuoristrada   Vintage Motorcycling:   / motociclismodepoca   INSTAGRAM Motorcycling:   / motociclismoit   Off-Road Motorcycling:   / motociclismo_fuoristrada
