How do you teach reading and writing to those who didn't learn in school? Beatriz Diuk created a methodology to teach reading and writing in four months, which is being used in Argentina and has the potential to eradicate illiteracy. She holds a degree in Educational Sciences (University of Buenos Aires) and a PhD in Psychology (National University of La Plata). She is an independent researcher at CONICET (National Scientific and Technical Research Council). She is the author of the DALE! (Right to Learn to Read and Write!) proposal, designed to promote literacy among children in impoverished backgrounds who are not progressing at the same pace as their peers. An urgent challenge for her is the enormous level of inequality in our education system.
