Part 1: Sailing Home From Panama: A 3,000 Mile Shakedown Sail

In 2014 we bought our Norseman447, Rocinante in Bocas Del Toro, Panama. We sailed her 3,000 miles home to Maine. We learned a lot about her on that “shakedown” Sail. This video starts in the accelerated trade winds off the coast of Colombia where we are bashing into 12’ seas and 25-30kt winds. This was after it settled down a bit and we felt well enough to hold a camera. It then jumps to the Bahamas where we are listening to Chris Parker on the SSB and planning our passage north to the US. Of course we hit a variety of weather on that passage ranging from absolute calm to 30kts. We swore we would sell the boat as soon as we hit Maine . But here we are 5 years later... and loving the boat more each year. ————- http://morsealpha.com – Learn to sail with us aboard Rocinante http://sailingsimplicity.com – Our sailing blog   / morsealphaexpeditions   – Follow us on Instagram, we love it there   / sailingsimplicity   – Find us on Facebook for more goodies
