So at 34 years old, I went outside at 5AM to find out if that's actually true. In this video, you'll see my real morning routine as a low-income Vietnamese living with my mom in a $135-a-month shared apartment. You'll see how we boil herbal tea instead of drinking tap water, why I wear $4 shoes next to my neighbor's $50 pair, and what Hanoi's streets actually look like before sunrise. Along the way, I stop to talk with a street vendor selling water spinach, and meet an elderly man who lives alone with his two dogs. This is daily life in Vietnam, unfiltered.
