Coach Says EP. 6 With Andrey Atmadji: Ini Alasan Kenapa 3 Wood Tidak Naik!

In this episode of Coach Says: “Master Your 3 Wood”, Andrey Atmadji breaks down one of the hardest clubs in the bag, and why so many golfers struggle with it. Common misses like topping, low shots that never lift, or hitting it grounded usually come from trying to scoop the ball or lifting the upper body too early. Instead of clean contact, you get inconsistent, weak strikes. Andrey starts with the basics: a proper 3 wood set-up, with the ball positioned slightly forward (similar to a driver, near your left heel). From there, it’s all about simplifying the motion. He walks you through two key drills. First, a “hands-only” drill with a narrow stance to build the feel of hitting down on the ball and controlling impact. Then, a half swing drill with a normal stance, keeping the lower body quiet and focusing on clean, controlled contact. The goal is to stay stable, hold your finish, and let the club do the work. Because hitting a 3 wood well isn’t about forcing height or power, it’s about staying down, striking clean, and delivering the club the right way every time.
