Starting Elsie the Owl’s Slow Stitch Ginormous Snippet Roll | Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery Vol. 9

Welcome to the first video in my next Textile Tales project for Roxy’s Journal of Stitchery Vol. 9. This time, I am creating a slow stitched snippet roll inspired by Elsie the Owl, caretaker of the Lost and Found Department at Railway Cottage. Elsie may already be familiar to those who followed The Blue Suitcase Collection, where she carefully oversaw the mysterious suitcase and prepared each parcel before it left the Lost and Found Department for its new home. Using layers of vintage fabrics, lace, trims and tiny textile treasures, I begin building the first sections of Elsie’s story. Each stitched snippet will reflect the quiet, curious atmosphere of her department, where forgotten parcels, misplaced buttons and mysterious pieces of luggage wait patiently to be claimed. This project will grow slowly over the coming videos, with each section becoming another small part of Elsie’s world.
