How I Used the Blue Suitcase Collection | Four Slow Stitch Projects from One Vintage Textile Kit

In this video, I share how I used the Blue Suitcase Collection to create four different slow stitch projects from one bundle of vintage textiles. You’ll see my thinking as I sort through the fabrics, consider the colours and textures, and decide how each piece might be used. Rather than following set patterns, I let the materials guide the process and gradually develop four projects: a mini quilt, a textile journal cover, a pouch and a small needle book. The collection used in this video was the very first version of the Blue Suitcase kit. The final parcels that were sent out included additional vintage textiles, giving each recipient even more pieces to explore and use in their own way. This video is intended as inspiration rather than a step-by-step tutorial. Every Blue Suitcase parcel was different, and the projects shown are simply examples of what could be created from the worn fabrics, faded colours, old trims and treasured fragments inside. I hope this gives you ideas for looking closely at your own collection, trusting your instincts and allowing the textiles to tell you what they might become.
