President Mahama Reveals Massive Development Plans for Volta Region President John Dramani Mahama has outlined a series of major development initiatives for the Volta Region as part of his Resetting Ghana Tour, reaffirming his government's commitment to accountability and inclusive national development. During his address, President Mahama announced that the long-awaited Volivo Bridge project has secured additional funding from Japan and is expected to commence before the end of the year. He also revealed plans to revive the Juapong Textiles Factory with a strategic investor, transform Ho Airport into an aviation hub, advance the Keta Port project, extend the railway from Tema to Keta, and accelerate the Eastern Economic Corridor under the 24-Hour Economy programme. The President further disclosed that government aims to eliminate the double-track system by 2027, expand the Ho Teaching Hospital, complete the UHAS laboratory complex, construct modern markets, improve feeder roads, and develop a new multi-purpose sports stadium in Ho. Mahama also reiterated his administration's commitment to accountability, stressing that no one—including government appointees—will be shielded from prosecution if found guilty of wrongdoing.
