What makes a good dance floor? A good dance floor has good sound, light and a connection between dancers and DJ that seems magical in respectful way. I want to be able to dance without boundaries, but at the same time I'm sharing an intimate space close to each other. Good dance floors have an unspoken understanding of how to take up space while giving space. How to manoeuvre through without stepping on everybody's toes. Treat your environment how you want to be treated. That combination sometimes feels rare, but it shouldn't be. It leads to the magic that we are all venturing out for - the freedom in community, without knowing the people around you. · Why do we need club culture? It's essential for us to have spaces where we can be in community with a shared passion for music, dancing, meeting people outside of our circles, share experiences and stories that go beyond what we know - being able tp learn from each other. The spaces need to be accessible and we need to be able to be ourselves, because for some of us this freedom is taken away in the everyday life. Club Culture has always been a welcome space for people being othered in society and now we need it more than ever. · How did you start playing music and what drives you? I've grown up with a passion for music, playing instruments very early on in my life in school as well as bands. Curating music started with mix tapes recorded sometimes off the radio, this was even before Napster was available. Turning this passion into DJing happened when I saw friends around me DJing and when I moved to Berlin I got my own setup.
