Brian Linebaugh on filming ‘Beyond Words’, learning Tamil

American documentary filmmaker Brian Linebaugh has been fascinated with the Tamil language for 20 years. Apart from learning to read, write and converse in Tamil, Brian recently filmed ‘Beyond Words - Stories from Tamil landscapes’, a documentary that celebrates the rich culture, traditions and everyday lives of Tamil people. In this interview with ‘The Hindu’, Brian, a data engineer, talks about his passion project and why Tamil culture and traditions must be richly celebrated and preserved.
