Convicted Felon in Premeditated Murder Case Leads 125 MPH Chase on I-95

Arrest Report: On 3-15-2026 at approximately 10:27 AM, I, Trooper Brandon Cano with the Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to an agency assist request from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office. The FCSO requested assistance from the FHP in reference to an active pursuit they were involved in. The FCSO was in active pursuit of an aggravated battery suspect driving a silver Chevrolet Impala. The pursuit entered Volusia County. Sergeant Michael Ellis, authorized me to assist in the pursuit. I began traveling southbound on Interstate 95 at mile marker 268 (Ormond Beach, Volusia County). I initiated a rolling roadblock attempting to slow traffic for the safety of the public motorist. Florida Highway Patrol Sanford Regional Communication Center (SRCC) advised me the pursuit was approaching my location. At approximately 10:30AM, I observed a marked FCSO Patrol vehicle with emergency lights and sirens activated pursuing a silver Chevrolet Impala SB on I-95. Once the suspect vehicle passed me, I activated my emergency lights and sirens and advised SRCC I was in active pursuit of the vehicle. I took primary position in the pursuit. Upon activating my emergency lights and sirens and getting behind the suspect vehicle, the vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene of the traffic stop. The vehicle had a temporary Florida paper license plate #DZS9066. The vehicle continued traveling SB on I-95 traveling in and out of lanes at a high rate of speed, fleeing from law enforcement and nearly causing several crashes. The speeds throughout the pursuit were 125 MPH for most of the pursuit on Interstate 95. The vehicle continued traveling at high rates of speeds, 125+ MPH, in and out of lanes. As I pursued the fleeing felon, he had no regards for his life, my life, or the motoring public’s life, showing wanton disregard for anyone’s safety. The vehicle exited at mile marker 260C and traveled WB on US Highway 92. The vehicle ran the red traffic control signal light at the intersection of US Highway 92 & Tomoka Farms Road. The vehicle then made a left turn and traveled southbound on Tomoka Farms Road and then made a left turn traveling eastbound on Bellevue Avenue. Once the vehicle traveled EB on Bellevue Avenue, the vehicle was traveling 30 MPH. The violator vehicle slowed down to a speed which was consistent with my training and experience in order for me to be able to perform a PIT maneuver on the vehicle. I performed a PIT maneuver on the vehicle, causing the violator vehicle to rotate clockwise and spin out of control. The driver of the vehicle then regained control, traveling southbound on Tomoka Farms Road, exceeding speeds of 115 MPH, endangering the lives of myself and the passing motorists/citizens. The pursuit continued traveling southbound on Tomoka Farms Road for an estimated 5–10 miles. On Tomoka Farms Road south of the intersection of Taylor Road, the violator slowed to 60 MPH which was consistent with my training and experience in order for me to be able to perform a PIT maneuver on the vehicle. I performed another PIT maneuver on the vehicle, in an attempt to stop the fleeing felon. The PIT maneuver caused the vehicle to rotate counterclockwise and spin out several times. Once again, the fleeing felon regained control of the vehicle and continued traveling SB on Tomoka Farms Road, driving recklessly at high rates of speeds. The pursuit continued southbound for several more miles. The vehicle finally came to a controlled stop southbound on Tomoka Farms Road. A felony stop was conducted, and the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was placed in handcuffs by Trooper Musial and placed under arrest at 10:43AM. I read the defendant his Miranda Rights from a pre-printed card at 10:45AM. I identified the defendant through his Florida Identification card as Korarise Hill. Records on FCIC/NCIC show the defendant does not have a driver’s license in the United States. Records on FCIC/NCIC show the defendant is on inmate release status for first degree premeditated murder. SRCC confirmed the defendant is a convicted felon. Trooper Clark located a magazine in the vehicle’s center console with twelve 9MM Full Metal Luger bullets. The tag attached to the vehicle was not assigned to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed by Universal Towing. My agency assigned patrol vehicle - FHP 1203 sustained heavy damage as a result of all the PIT maneuvers performed on the fleeing felon. Trooper Clark submitted the magazine and the bullets for evidence at the FHP DeLand station. Deputy Moorhead with the FCSO is charging the defendant with Domestic Battery, hit and run with property damage, Fleeing and eluding, False Imprisonment regarding their criminal investigation which led to the pursuit. I was advised by Flagler County Deputies that the defendant had pistol whipped the victim Tasia Hill of Sanford, FL (FCSO Domestic Battery Charge) before the pursuit occurred. The defendant was transported to the Volusia County Jail.
