Piethorne Valley, Rooden Reservoir, South Pennines

Rooden Reservoir is situated up in the Piethorn Valley and less populated and known by ourselves. Despite being cold and icy underfoot the sunshine weather was in our favour. Ending our walk at the Bulls Head made our day most enjoyable. We started with our first walk in the New Year, from Ogden Reservoir. As this was during recent snow falls, the surrounding snowy landscape up on Piethorne Valley were quite dramatic. Also a coincidence we did a similar weather condition walk overlooking Piethorne, exactly a year ago almost to the day.
