10 Lessons from 40 Years of Reading
I've been reading for over forty years, and during that time I've discovered that the greatest lessons from books aren't always found on the page. In this video, I share ten lessons that a lifetime of reading has taught me—not just about literature, but about curiosity, patience, empathy and living a richer life. This isn't a list of my favourite books. It's a reflection on how reading quietly changes us over time. Whether you've been a lifelong reader or you're just rediscovering books, I hope these lessons resonate with you. 📚 In this video: Why reading isn't a race The freedom of not finishing every book Why the right book arrives at the right time The joy of re-reading How books teach curiosity and empathy Why slowing down matters Owning books vs reading books Why you'll never run out of wonderful books to discover So put the kettle on, settle into your favourite chair, and let's reflect on forty years of reading together. I'd love to hear from you in the comments. What's the most important lesson reading has taught you? If you enjoyed this video, please like, subscribe and join our community of readers. Happy reading!
