Critical Criteria: OECD DAC guidance validation workshop

After more than 15 years of effective use, ALNAP is updating its popular 2006 guidance on how to use the OECD DAC criteria for evaluating humanitarian action. The revision process has been designed to be participatory and evidence based. To achieve that, ALNAP engaged in an extensive global consultation process during 2023 and 2024 to gather perspectives from a broad spectrum of evaluation practitioners on issues specific to the evaluation of humanitarian action, including common constraints and challenges of applying the OECD DAC criteria in humanitarian settings. As part of the consultation process, ALNAP organised a series of in-person and online consultation events in English, French and Arabic. ALNAP also undertook a global online survey for humanitarian and evaluation practitioners which received over 300 responses.
