Hopkins Hour: Advancing the Aus InSCI Translation Project Midpoint Outcomes and Reflections
The Hopkins Centre held the Hopkins Hour live event about Advancing the Aus InSCI Translation Project Midpoint Outcomes and Reflections on Tuesday 16th June 2026. Hosted by Hopkins Director, Prof Tim Geraghty, along with members of the Aus-InSCI Translation team, Glenn Verner-Wren, Dr Michaela Filipcikova and Alex Borg, as well as co-chairs of the Consumer Advisory Committee Antonio Vecchio and Dr Johnny Bourke, and project lived experience experts Marita Finch and Daniel Cheong. In this Hopkins Hour, the Translation Team presented an overview of the Aus‑InSCI Translation Project and its current activities. The presentations highlighted the outcomes of the e‑Delphi study used to prioritise project focus areas, the development of the environmental scan protocol, and a preview of the planned work for the remaining 18 months of the project, accompanied by key learnings and reflections. Those involved in the panel discussion shared how the project engages with SCI lived‑experience experts and the importance of strengthening those processes, outputs, & overall impact. The Aus‑InSCI Translation Project aims to deliver a targeted program of translational activities informed by the Aus‑InSCI Community Survey, with the overarching goal of improving quality of life and outcomes for people with spinal cord injury.
