Education in Turkey | International schools | Where to study?

I want to talk about education in Turkey and some of the international schools and even some famous ones in the country. 12 years of education is compulsory and Turkey runs the 4+4+4 system, which is exactly as you probably guessed already, 4 years for each, elementary, secondary and high schools. Now when it comes to the type of high schools, there are quite a few available to Turkish citizens, ranging from Fen Lisesi to Mesleki ve Teknik Anadolu Lisesi to Imam Hatip Lisesi, now Lise means High School, so these are science, vocational & technical, and religious schools. What differentiates them is their emphasis on specific subjects and areas in their curricula. There is also pre-school education, which is optional, for children aged 3 to 6 years. These are often called Anaokulu or Kreş in Turkey. Now there are 2 types of schools in the country, first is state-run and operated schools, which are called Devlet Okulu, and second, would be private schools. Primary and secondary education is free to all Turkish citizens and foreigners at your regular old everyday neighbourhood state schools. The difference between state and private in Turkey is that private schools will follow the national curriculum but may enrich and diversify it, these schools are usually owned and operated by charities or business people and some go back centuries. These schools have annual tuition, food, and boarding fees, some may offer varying scholarships for students from different social and economic backgrounds.
