This is Lorie's introduction to Superman, and for Mama's Geeky, it's her fourth time watching this cinematic masterpiece. Even after multiple viewings, this amazing film, which is one of Mama's Geeky's favorites of the year, still brings her to tears. David Corenswet dons the cape as Clark Kent/Superman, and the film beautifully captures the balance of his heroic life and his day-to-day world in Metropolis. Rachel Brosnahan shines as the quick-witted Lois Lane, and the film's standout cast includes Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, and Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho. Lorie is a huge fan of Krypto the Superdog, and they both love to hate Nicholas Hoult's brilliant and manipulative Lex Luthor. Adding to the excitement, Lorie was thrilled to see Skyler Gisondo, whom she loved in Santa Clarita Diet, take on the role of Jimmy Olsen. In true James Gunn style, the movie is both hilarious, with so many moments that had us laughing, and deeply heartfelt, never losing sight of the emotional core that makes Superman a beloved character.
