One of the most influential literary voices of the twentieth century, Lorca combined traditional Spanish imagery with modernist and surrealist influences. As a young man he formed friendships with artists such as Salvador Dalí and filmmaker Luis Buñuel, helping shape Spain’s remarkable cultural renaissance. Lorca’s poetry is filled with music, longing, symbolism, nature, passion, and mystery. His work often explored love, identity, loneliness, and the spiritual depths of human experience. Tragically, during the Spanish Civil War, Lorca was murdered in 1936 at the age of 38. His body was never recovered, adding to the haunting mythology surrounding his life and work.
