10 million drones a year: how Ukraine outpaces NATO | Urszula Gacek

While European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is visiting Kyiv, Russia has launched another major attack on Odesa. One of the key topics on the agenda in the Ukrainian capital is a new defense partnership between the EU and Ukraine. “We are looking at a broad strategic program,” former Polish Ambassador to the Council of Europe Urszula Gacek said on World Talks. According to her, Ukraine’s drone production potential is enormous, reaching between 8 and 10 million drones annually. “Even today, Ukraine produces more drones than all NATO countries combined,” she added. Ukraine is increasingly emerging as a leader in defense technology and a source of valuable know-how for European partners. “Nothing accelerates technological development like war,” the former diplomat noted, highlighting the country’s ability to innovate and rapidly scale up production in response to battlefield demands.
