City Power clamps down on illegal connections
City Power says it has spent over R3 million in two months replacing mini sub-stations that have blown up in Alexandra, northern Johannesburg, due to overloading. The power utility has been disconnecting illegal electricity connections at an informal settlement on London Road. It adds that illegal connections cause continuous power outages in the township.
