‘What are we going to do’: Century-old UK steel factory set to close in move to lower emissions
As Britain moves towards lower emissions, a steel factory that has operated for over a century is set to shut down, leaving nearly 3,000 people jobless. The Tarta factory workers are trying to protest the closure, stating the site ‘is the town’. “[It’s an] empty, heartbroken feeling, to be honest with you,” Port Talbot steelworker Gary Keogh said. “There’s no one in this town and the surrounding communities … [who] don’t have someone involved in this. “What are we going to do?”
