Final movements at Tata Steel UK's Blending Plant
With the closure of Blast Furnace 4 fast approaching, other milestones in Tata Steel UK's decommissioning plan have been met. Friday 13 September 2024 saw the final fines bed being laid, meaning the Blending Plant has completed its last shift in primary steelmaking. Huw Waghorn speaks to Dave Morgan and Ruth Lowe to find out more about the Ore Yards, the giant machinery operating within them and the emotions of the day.
