VETS in Kenya: Meet Nancy Kiambi, Community One Health Champion

Meet Nancy Kauera Kiambi, a farmer and mother from Meru County, Kenya. Through the VETS program, Nancy became a Community One Health Champion (COHC), gaining valuable skills in One Health, gender equity, and animal health that have not only improved her own farm but have also empowered her to uplift her entire community. The fact is, 70% of farmers in rural Kenya are women, yet they often lack access to the same resources and education as their male counterparts. By empowering women farmers like Nancy, the VETS program is promoting gender equity and fostering holistic community health in rural Kenya. Nancy's inspiring commitment to sustainable farming, animal health, and community well-being has led to remarkable improvements in milk production and agricultural practices, benefiting both herself and her community.
