WIĄZANIA SIGMA I Pi w alkanach, alkenach i alkinach. Chemia #36

How sigma and pi bonds form. Chemical bonds form through the sharing of orbital space. A sigma bond is formed by the head-on overlap of atomic orbitals, and a pi bond by the lateral overlap of atomic orbitals. We'll consider the overlap of an s orbital with a p, its px, py, and p components, and various combinations of p orbitals themselves. You'll see how easy it is once you learn my associations and remember how to distinguish one from the other. This is another episode in the organic chemistry series.
