#anime #animereview #gate We all have at least one anime that is objectively terrible but we still can't help but to love. For me that one show is GATE - Thus the JSDF Fought there. GATE is honestly little more than recruitment material for the Japanese army but for me it still managed to tick all the boxes and breathe some much needed life into the otherwise samey and dull fantasy isekai setting. Since who needs magic or cheat skills when you have overwhelming firepower and the full might of the military industrial complex of Japan backing you up? GATE answers the age old question of could a dragon beat a fighter aircraft or a fantasy army storm a trench line held by machine guns and tanks and the answer is simply BRRRRRRRT and a lot of dead fey creatures. It's si,ple dumb fun but it might ruffle some feathers among fans of the more traditional isekai style.
