266 Nigerians Repatriated From South Africa, Rising Xenophobia Concerns
A total of 266 Nigerians have been returned home from South Africa aboard an Air Peace flight under a voluntary repatriation programme. The returnees departed following growing concerns over rising anti-migrant tensions in parts of South Africa, which have heightened safety fears among foreign nationals. Officials say the repatriation process is being coordinated with the Nigerian mission in Pretoria to ensure a safe and orderly return, while support measures are being put in place to help returnees reintegrate and rebuild their lives in Nigeria.
