I traveled to Fukushima, in Japan's Tohoku region. During this four-day, three-night journey, I visited Goshikinuma, often called the "Jiuzhaigou of Japan," explored Aizuwakamatsu, a town known for its samurai heritage, and finally made my way to Ouchi-juku, one of Japan's three most famous thatched-roof villages. Before the trip, I thought the most memorable part would be the beautiful scenery and historic landmarks. But when the journey came to an end, what stayed with me the most was the unique experience at a local guesthouse and the warmth of the people I met along the way.
