It features an uncharacteristic organ on both songs and seems to be a bit different in style than Teddy's normal offerings. Teddy Chilambe was a Zambian folk singer from the Copperbelt. Originally a miner by trade, he rose to prominence in the 1970s with appearances on Zambian television. Chilambe was a socially conscious artist who frequently used his songs to comment on issues affecting the average Zambian, including tackling social, economic and political issues. He was also known for his songs about marriage. Chilambe released a single album, Teddy Chilambe - Chula-Chula in 1977 with the bulk of his other releases appearing on singles through the 1980's. He passed away in the early 1990s. His son, Teddy Chilambe Jr followed in his father's footsteps as a reggae singer. Want more Teddy Chilambe?
