Hudson Tubes: Manhattan to Hoboken
First opened for public service on February 25 1908, the Hudson & Manhattan Railroad's 'Tubes' were the first train tunnel constructed under a major river (the Hudson), predating both the Pennsylvania Railroad and the New York Subway System tunnels. The tubular tunnels reach a maximum depth of 97 feet. This video ends at the Hoboken, New Jersey tube station.
