Preparing for Alaska: Ep 8 - Carb Rebuild on the KLR 650
Days until departure: 216 Follow along as I rebuild the 2012 KLR 650 carburetor with an eagle mike stock jetting kit. On a previous trip we discovered that the 2012 had issues with carb flooding and stalling out due to running too rich at higher altitudes. We discovered it had a much larger main jet as well as an adjustable needle that was providing too much fuel in leaner air environments. So we decided to return it to the factory settings to improve reliability at the cost of some performance. Disclaimer: I don't know what I'm doing.
