This moving memorial commemorates three members of the Polish Air Force serving with 300 (Masovian) Squadron who lost their lives when their Fairey Battle aircraft crashed near Calverton on 13 October 1940 while returning from a bombing mission during World War II. Pilot Jan Gebicki, Observer Edward Morawa and Wireless Operator Tadeusz Egierski are remembered here for their service and sacrifice. The memorial stands as a lasting tribute to the contribution made by Polish forces fighting alongside Britain during the war.
