Demonstration Split Operations with the Yaesu FT991A radio, also showed using WIDTH feature
Demonstration of Split Operations with the Yaesu FT991A radio, also showed using the WIDTH feature, the WIDTH feature compresses the transmission signal from the standard 2.4 kHz bandwidth, in this video I compress the standard 2.4 kHz bandwidth to around 1.8 kHz which compress the audio into a narrower band width end resulting in more concentrated power and reach. Also, in this video I have the Speech Processor and Parametric Equalizer on. Enjoy the video not any contacts but some radio time. Rotate the Main VFO Dial knob to the desired “RX” Frequency for “VFO-A” 2. Press the “A/B” button, then rotate the Main VFO Dial knob to set the desired “TX” frequency 3. Press the “A/B” button again, then press the “SPLIT” button. The “VFO-B” frequency will be shown in the TFT display and the LED indicators will show below, note the “VFO-B” frequency will not change if KI5JUF request the Split and listening up. 4. During Split operation, pressing the “A/B” button will reverse the contents of “VFO-A” and “VFO-B” normally not required information only. 5. During “Split” operations you may listen to the “TX” frequency temporally while pressing the “TWX” button. While pressing the “TWX” button during Split operations, the frequency of the transmit on “VFO-B” can be changed. 6. During Split operations is also possible to set “VFO-A” and “VFO-B” to different amateur bands. KI5JUF Joins Split Operations 1. The “VFO-B” frequency will be shown in the TFT display and the LED indicators will show below, note the frequency in “VFO-B” will now be adjusted by KI5JUF to reach the other stations, the frequency in “VFO-A” will not be adjusted and will be listing for the station that initiated the Split Operations with me.
