7 days free camping on the Waikato River. Never stayed on the Waikato river before, even though it was just an hour or so drive from our old home town of Rotorua, we always opted for the beach. Well we had a blast parking up on the water front loads of room, and space to spread out. Some sites even had free hot showers, rubbish, recycling, BBQ's and toilets, amazing. the Waikato region has done great with keeping these spaces opened and resourced.
