Some basic definitions: What is a data warehouse? It's a type of data management system designed to enable and support business intelligence (BI) activities, particularly analytics. What is a data lake? It's a centralized repository that allows you to store large amounts of data in its native format, from many diverse and heterogeneous sources. What is a data lakehouse? It's a new, open data management architecture that combines the flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and scalability of data lakes. What we'll cover: We'll look at some features of data warehouses, data lakes, and data lakehouses, and explore some online services that implement this latest analytics system.
