Spectacle Lake is STUNNING | Backpacking the Alpine Lakes Wilderness

Spectacle Lake in Washington's Alpine Lakes Wilderness is a stunning alpine lake offering numerous camp sites with great views and easy water access. Hiking to Spectacle Lake is about 11 miles worth of hiking with ~2300 feet of elevation gain. We started at Pete Lake TH and hiked an pretty easy 4 miles to Pete Lake. From there you'll have to cross the Lemah River which can prove a little bit tricky. There are 3 downed logs that you can find if you venture just beyond the actual trail crossing roughly 50 yards ahead. After getting across the River you'll join up with the PCT until you reach the Spectacle Lake trail. At this point you're practically there. Views of Spectacle Lake will appear before you know it and it's absolutely worth the effort to get there. After a few hundred feet of decent, you're at Spectacle Lake. All you need to do now is find a campsite and enjoy the rest of your time there!
