Week 7: Construction - Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along (CAL)

We have made it to week 7 of the Textured Fun Blanket Crochet Along (CAL) where we will go over how to construct the pattern. Once you have your squares completed, you will want to block them to get them flat and even. You can either steam block with the steam function on your iron or a steamer, or block with water. I laid towels out and used a spray bottle to wet the squares. Allow them to try, then turn over and repeat on the other side. After wet blocking, if the squares still curl I used my steamer to get them flat. You also want the squares to be about the same size. There are 2 options for sewing your squares together. In the video I am working my second Textured Fun Blanket in a baby blanket size in these beautiful blue colors from Hobby Lobby's I Love This Yarn! I am using the mattress stitch to sew the squares together. The second technique for joining the squares is to slip stitch them together. You want to lay the squares out and slip stitch in Back Loop and Front Loop of each square. Slip Stitch all the way across.
