Lexical Verbs 2 Simple Tenses
This video begins with the chart of the 12 divisions of time which the lexical verbs in English display. These 12 forms are not all at once explained as that would be too confusing for learners at the basic level. In this video details of the simple tenses are only dealt with. These are the simple present, simple past and simple future forms. First the structures of these are explained with examples. Then there are the functions of each of these with examples to show the learners how to use the simple tenses correctly in their speaking and writing. After this there are some exercises for the learners to check their understanding of the concepts explained here and test their progress. These include the changing of simple present to simple past and vice versa in some given sentences. This will teach learners to change the tense of the main verbs in sentences according to the time they want to indicate in their speaking and writing.
