We praten over van alles en ook nog wat niet, én er is een heugelijke tijding!

Episode: When the ladies of Timzalot sit down for a cozy hour of knitting in the craft house, all sorts of things happen, including the delivery person of the Hello Fresh box, and Léia has some very special news! 00:00 Opening with styled hair 01:43 Where are the pants? 02:14 The body warmer 08:27 The Bresni sweater 21:35 The Timzalot.shop 28:34 The Hello Fresh box 35:14 Flavored coffee This time, we start with Léia's hair. With product. With blow-drying. And with the weather that's completely uncooperative. Because no matter how hard she tries, sometimes everything just falls flat. Luckily, we have more important things: body warmers, knitting projects, and—yes—the pants (which are still a while off). Dini has made a brand new body warmer, assembled in four hours. With a lining, an inside pocket, a collar, and a zipper that initially seems awkward but ultimately gives in. A practical garden cardigan, roomy enough for layering and with just the right amount of quirkiness. She's happy with it – beauty prize or not. Then we dive into the knitting book. Gomitolo yarn in shades of red and blue, which never quite repeats itself and surprises us with every row. We debate raglan, sleeve inserts, knitting two strands at a time (preferably not), steaming, and stitch counts that will leave you speechless. Ultimately, Dini opts for a simple, straightforward approach. Sometimes we just want to knit on without complicated constructions. And yes, oversized sleeves remain romantic – as if we're crawling back into a loved one's sweater. Meanwhile, we also cast on stitches for socks for Leia's grandson, discuss ribbing in a cuff (which is then simply removed), and offer a practical tip: if you're working with two strands of yarn from one ball, just make two balls. Saves a lot of fiddling and grumbling. Meanwhile, the Hellofresh box arrives – our temporary return to convenience. No need to think about what we're eating, lots of vegetables (although according to Léia, onions don't really count), and especially no extra-pay recipes. We remain critical, but honestly: sometimes it's just nice to have something taken care of. And then – important news – the Timzalot shop is open. Everything is clearly arranged, clearly marked with difficulty levels, and with instructional videos where necessary. Craft kits to get started yourself. We'll continue to build, test, improve, and already dream of new ideas. The pants? They're coming. Really. But first, let's finish this round. Because once you start, you always knit one more color. 🧶✨ Timzalot, the House of Crafts, is an initiative of Dini Bangma and Léia Smit, who wanted to show during the coronavirus crisis how enjoyable it can be to craft with a friend or in the company of the Timzalot members. It has been scientifically proven time and again that knitting, crocheting, embroidery, or any other craft technique you try can have a calming effect and relax your mind. And of course, the bonus is that your work yields something valuable, simply because you made it yourself! And the fact that we're almost into our sixth year, and still have new ideas every week, proves that the possibilities are practically endless. You can also find Timzalot, the House of Crafts online: www.timzalot.nl and on Instagram:   / timzalot  . Did you know that fun craft kits are available twice a month in the Timzalot shop? Visit www.timzalot.nl/shop. The kits always include plenty of materials and detailed work descriptions. Léia often makes an instructional video as well. You can find these instructional videos in the classroom playlist on this YouTube channel, or at www.timzalot.nl/leslokkaal. Unfortunately, there's a typo there, but it's the correct URL. You can also simply go to the website and select the "looslokaal" tab. Music: www.bensound.com
