CONFISCATION OF EVIDENCE WORTH IDR 506 BILLION IN CORRUPTION RELATED TO A CORRUPTION CASE REGARDING THE PROVISION OF LOAN/CREDIT FACILITIES FROM A STATE-OWNED BANK TO PT. BSS AND PT. SAL SUMSEL PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE - On Thursday, August 7, 2025, the Special Crimes Investigation Team of the South Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office confiscated evidence in the form of IDR 506,150,000,000 (five hundred six billion one hundred fifty million rupiah) in IDR 100,000 (one hundred thousand rupiah) denominations related to a corruption case involving the provision of loan/credit facilities from a state-owned bank to PT. BSS and PT. SAL. This constitutes the initial step in recovering state financial losses. In handling corruption cases, not only the determination of suspects and their punishment are crucial, but also the recovery of state finances. In the future, there is potential for additional state financial recovery from assets that have been blocked, which will be auctioned, with an estimated value of approximately IDR 400,000,000,000 (four hundred billion rupiah). A previous release stated that the estimated state financial loss is IDR 1.3 trillion, so the confiscation of this evidence could result in a recovery of nearly IDR 1 trillion.
