However, despite their promising introduction, it was announced that the NOVA3 trains will be retired from the TransPennine Express fleet by December 2023. The NOVA3 faced numerous challenges from the start, including delays and required modifications. Additionally, the TransPennine Express, the operating company, struggled with various external factors, leading to financial difficulties.
