Municipality of Pemba Offers Land Use Rights to Healthcare Professionals in a Gesture of Appreciation on Nurses' Day As part of the celebrations for International Nurses' Day, the Municipal Council of the City of Pemba symbolically presented six Land Use Rights (DUATs) to healthcare professionals, in an initiative aimed at recognizing the role of this class in caring for the population. According to a municipal representative, the gesture is part of a commitment previously made by the mayor to regularize the land situation of professionals who were still facing difficulties in the process of legalizing their plots. "This gesture is a way of valuing the efforts of healthcare professionals in caring for our citizens," he stated, adding that the choice of date was not by chance, but rather to symbolically mark the importance of nurses in society. Although the delivery took place on International Nurses Day, authorities clarified that the initiative is not limited to this class, encompassing all health professionals. The process of identifying beneficiaries was carried out in coordination with the Provincial Health and Social Action Service, based on a list of professionals residing in the municipality. In this first phase, six DUATs (Land Use and Development Rights) were delivered, but the process will continue gradually. Professionals whose applications have already been approved can go to the municipal services to collect their titles. For the municipality, the initiative represents not only material support, but also public recognition of the difficulties faced by health professionals, who continue to work in challenging conditions, marked by a shortage of supplies and equipment. "Even with the challenges, they have worked tirelessly to safeguard lives," the source highlighted, emphasizing that the gesture aims to value the daily commitment of these professionals. The city council also indicates that this action is part of a broader strategy, which has already benefited other groups, such as teachers, and which may be gradually extended to other professional groups considered essential for the functioning and development of the city.
