What I quickly learned about BikePacking Malaysia #bikemalaysia #bikepacking 1. Normal Cycling gear is not suitable for Malaysias hot and humid climate, padded shorts keeping your bum soaked for hours. Lycra jerseys holding in the heat when you need loose flappy clothing to keep cool. 2. Malaysia is next level hot and humid as you make your way nearer to the equator. 3. Being old in Malaysia is your super power. Malaysia is 70% Islamic and the kindness is like nothing I have experienced anywhere. 4. Malaysia has a LOT of traffic and big roads. Roads that at some point you will have to navigate. Whilst everyone is super polite and safe it wears you down eventually. 5. If you take the tiny roads you have to deal with the bigger guard dogs which can be scary. 6. I love to see Monkeys and gibbons! It’s super exciting to see them it’s like you are proper travelling. 7. Ramadam can be difficult for westerners to get our heads around. You cannot eat before 7 and if you do eat before 7 it’s polite to do it discreetly where you cannot be seen. 8. I love Bubble Tea and ice coffee ….. so good. But remember Asians do not eat while they walk. It’s very unusual to them 9. I love Kuala Lumpur. Due to the skirmish in the Middle East I was stuck here for a while. What a place to get stuck in so full of culture, history, food, fabulous friendly people and awesome inspiring buildings
