BikePacking Thailand - 9 things I quickly learned 1. Bangkok is not Thailand. In rural Thailand it’s very different. The restaurants were closing early at around 6pm so you learn to eat early. 2. Thailand has a big dog problem. weighing up if they are going to chase you or not. Up to 10 times a day. 4. There is accommodation everywhere it might take different methods to find it other than booking.com. I used google maps with good results. 5. Whilst I love to camp on a beach it was so hot that my preference was to get accommodation with AC, usually it was around 12€ 6. Thai people are much more conservative and business like than I thought they would be. 7. There is food to be eaten everywhere quite often giant kitchens under a shelter cooking to order. A 3 course meal usually less than 6€ pad Thai my favourite dish 8. The roads can get very busy even in the smaller towns especially the scooters who seem to not obey any laws at all. Mostly people are respectful and kind. I really enjoyed the costal roads 9. There is not much English spoken in Thailand (what a cheek) nor any other European Language 10.
