In this tutorial, I'll teach you how to knit the honeycomb stitch, also called the smocking stitch 🐝, using two needles. It's a classic design for Irish-style sweaters and vests, ideal if you're looking for a warm and textured garment. This stitch is worked in multiples of 8 and is formed with cables of 4 stitches, alternating outward and inward crosses every few rows. It's perfect for knitting garments like vests, scarves, hats, or sweaters for both men and women, especially in the center and alternating with other patterns on the sides. 🧶 Materials used for the sample: • Medium-weight yarn • Size 4 or 5 needles • Cable needle It's a closed stitch, ideal for keeping the cold out. Easy to knit; you know I always try to make things easier, especially for those who are starting to knit with two needles.
